Z330 problems - what player next.

I bought a Z330 a while ago, and I notice that it has problems with about 25% of Divx and Xvid that I throw at it. The main problems are sound sync, or frame dropping, and even more annoying, only playing 1 frame every 30 seconds or so.

I assume none of this has been fixed in firmware updates (*nope - just checked), so I'm wondering what DVD player to buy next which isn't based upon the Mediatek chipset. (*ahhh. Just discovered a small util called "MPEG4 modifer" that unpacks bitstream. Curiously, the unpacked file is smaller???)

The players on my computer (VLC etc) have no problems with any of these files. (*Why don't I just buy a laptop?)(*I know, because it doesn't have 5 chanel sound?)

It's upgraded. I tried using the MPEG4 modifier to get rid of a packed bitstream on a video last night, but it made no diff. There doesn't appear to be a chipset on the market at the moment that can play things as well as the PC codecs can. So I may have to use a PC.

More likely encoding is your problem, no player is going to give 100% results with all file types at the moment, MediaTek seem to be the most versatile all rounders at the moment though.

I can't say i have any issue since the kast upgrade. i never use MPeg4modifier anymore any have been able to play everything i've thrown at the 330. Perhaps try the LG8900, i have one of those as well and it works a treat.

I aske Zensonic if they would like a DVD full of mpg4 that wouldn't play on the Zensonic, and they said no fanx, we already have enough of them lying around.
