Is there any program available to test if my USB ports can handle 2.0 Speeds?
Is there a difference in the 2.0 port itself or is it accomplished, with drivers or other software?
Thanks
Steve

You can find out if you have USB 2.0 by going into Device Manager and expanding the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section. If you have 2.0,, you will see something like "PCI to USB Enhanced Controller" (the important word being "Enhanced"). You can't turn a USB 1.0 port into a 2.0 port with drivers or software, nor can you tell the difference just by looking at them.
I don't know of a test as such. I have a USB 2.0 pen drive, and if I plug that into a USB 1.0 port I get a message from Windows telling me that the device is capable of running faster in a suitable port, and offers to look for one for me. This may also apply to other USB 2.0 peripherals,, but I don't have any!
