Nice looking car but there is no way he is going to get that sort of money
for it. I was reading unique autos magazine and saw a XW phase 2 for $170k.
Now that is surely taking the piss. You could buy a newish Ferrari for
that. I like how the guy included a photo of the build plate even though
non GTs are worth fuck all.

Common thing with major restorations. When I did my RX-7 people asked me if
I had reset it to 0.

I don't see anything there about breaking the law. I don't even see
anything there about the odometer.

Jesus H mother lovin' Christ!
I sold mine for 2800 bucks and it had under 50k genuine miles on the clock.
Biggest mistake of my life (sob).

Yeah, pretty funny.
If it doesn't have JG33 stamped on it, it's just another Falcon.

Yep. But having said that replica GTs seem to be commanding 15k upwards. I
sold my XY for $500. Kinda wish I hadn't now.

Noddy, did you read the article about the "GS" option in Issue 21 of AMC.
The feature car was a 71 XY Fairmont GS 302 and at the end of the article
it says it has an estimated value of more than $60k. In the section "Price
Range", it says...
"Prices for a nice 302 2v GS with bucket seats and other options should
top $20k, maybe even higher as a manual. The rare XY 351 2v could easily
reach $30k in top condition, especially as a manual. Documents confirming
authenticity are important at the top end of the market."
It's a pity that a genuine GS was used for a GT replica as it would have
surely been more valuable if left original, it may have even been in the
ballpark with the $30k+ figure if it wasn't modified.

No, I didn't read it, and I'm highly skeptical of such estimated values.
There's plenty of genuine GT's out there for well under $60k if you want
one, and I can't imagine why you'd want to pay GT type money for a GS.

Sounds like Australian Classic Car. They valued my series 2 Jag at $20k. I
sold it for $4.5k.
