This is a prime example of an aussie. Evidence just keeps presenting itself.

Way to go Ron! Throw in some racism and that'll help.

Please don't consider "lady dah" Dan to be typical of Australians.
Sadly; he's one of those people that found out that it costs nothing to be
a moron and is eager to get his money's worth....

No it's not (please lord tell me it's not!)
Aus is a country of opportunity and even functional morons are allowed to
be heard and (unfortunately) allowed to post in newsgroups.
Sadly; these are the persons most likely to blurt forth when challenged so
they present an skewed visage of what "normal" Aussies look like.
Apathy is rampant in Australia and I'd do something about it but the
footy's on tomorrow and I'm a bit busy all next week......

Indeed this is true.

There isn't a 'typical' or 'normal' Aussie anyway... they are people and
people are different.

OTOH... apathy is part of our culture... "she'll be right mate" is a
national saying.
Leaving fixing things until it's actually broken isn't always a bad
thing though :)

Yeah, but that is subtly different to apathy. It's more an expression
denoting a positive outlook. A "we'll pull through it" kind of
mentality.
Of course, like many things "uniquely" Australian, it harbours echoes of
the Mother Country (at least, conceptually). Think "Every cloud has a
silver lining", and, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"!!
OTOH, as far as apathy goes, well . . . I just couldn't be bothered
caring about it.
