On my way home from a weekend playing in the Patrol at LCMP, we ended up
behind some clown in a Hilux twin cab who could not round a corner without
putting the double yellow lines down the middle of the vehicle, and he
wasn't even pushing hard, if I had been an idiot I could have overtaken him
on the left, he was that bad. Bloody hard to pass too when you have to get
completely on the wrong side of the road to see around him to even know if
dotted lines are ahead.
To make it worse he had a full back window sticker for a local suspension
company, but the again the vehicle looked to be driving fine, the driver was
just crap.

We have a local 2 lane round about and that many idiots go in on the left
lane, cross to the right lane then exit on the left again, it's amazing no
one has been killed.

Why were you trying to pass on a corner?

I wasn't, otherwise I would have passed him on the left side, but seeing
this guy took half the length of the straight sections to pull back onto the
correct side of the road, it didn't make seeing around him easy.

Perhaps ACA might do an expose on this

I can see the headline now, 'Man encouters bad driver on road'. Yeah that'll
sell...

Change "driver" to "4WDer" and it will sell. Also supply some dodgy
stats that they "they're all a bunch o' cunts" and you've got some
serious ratings.

That sort of thing is so 'normal' here that I don't take much
notice anymore.

That first Roundabout going into Caboolture was famous for that(and the
amount of crashes there)
cars would drive into the chicane in the right lane then drive straight
ahead crossing the left lane and then the right lane before they even
entered the roundabout
if you happen to be beside them you had to make sure you had the front
of your car at least level with their's as they wouldn't see you
I had on many occasions cars just drive into my lane while I was beside
them, and don't they get the shits when they realise that they almost
fucked up big time, but it was of course my fault because they almost
caused a crash

this has now changed since they made the right lane a right turn only
with chevron markings

the other place for braindead Caboolture drivers is now the Bribie
Rd/Beachmere Rd/Aerodrome Rd Roundabout
idiots ignore the road markings indicating that the left lane(from
Aerodrome Rd) is for left turn/straight ahead only
and there they all are sitting in the left lane with their right
indicators going
I've seen many have to quickly exit into Beachmere Rd with lots of horn
blowing and hand gestures because that's where the driver in the right
lane was going(legally)

Exactly. Any story that goes "that lot, those people, they are bastards,
let's go film them and chase them around with our microphones.... there, now
don't you feel better?" Basically the underlying theme of most of Uncle
Ray's stories.

"SE Queensland driver caught reading roadrules"
Good evening, thanks for joining me. Before you tuned in I was
just pieces on the floor. Our top story tonight involves a SE Qld
driver that has studied the road rules and is picking on other SE
Qld drivers. A young laid back retarded self satisfied chick
magnet commodore driver with hat on backwards was first to
complain saying he was dobbed for having his arm dangling out the
window and in his frustration shouted, it's not like I was
mooning or anything... anyway that was my passenger when I was
doing a burnout.
The offensive road rule reading motorist terrorising other SE Qld
road users was going by the alias of Rainbow Warrior to protect
his identity, fearing for his life. We agreed not to show his
photo but forgot, in fact here is closeup of his face and this is
the house where he lives.
***

Perhaps it's time the gov stepped in. Qld Transplant/Transport
might be kind enough to package a list of roadrules with
registration renewals but that won't happen and it would be more
likely they would send junk mail advertising (for example -
mobile phone users lubricant).
This year saw many changes to our road rules but it appears the
majority were not even aware of the original ones. A responsible
department should be distributing information and carrying out
retesting ensuring knowledge of existing road rules. It should
also be conducting practical driving tests for ageing drivers.
That would include me.. so I'm not discriminating :-)
