Problems adding a printer: "impossible to complete the operation"

After reparing windows xp (reinstalling the basic version on a sp2) because
of a dos shell problem (it didn't open anymore), xp works ok, but it doesn't
add printers.
When i click on "add a new printer", it answers "impossible to complete the
operation".
