Good day
I want to use a wireless bridge to connect my laptop to a wireless router.
I have a Motorola we800g which is connected to my laptop with an ethernet cable. The installation instructions sort of tell me how to configure the bridge but I need to know what else to do to the computer. Once the bridge is running how do i access the network/ internet through it?
Can anyone point me to where i can find such information?

I took a look at the User's Guide found here...
http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/support/default.asp?supportSection=HomeNetworking
It appears that the initial configuration (setting your computer's IP address/subnet mask to 192.168.30.10/255.255.255.0, etc.) is to let you access the bridge so you can configure it. It appears the bridge itself uses the address 192.168.30.1.
Once you have configured the bridge, the easiest thing to do is to have your laptop use the default "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" setting for the TCP/IP properties. All the hard stuff (wireless protocols, etc.) is handled by the bridge at this point. As far as the laptop is concerned, it will be just like plugging into a regular router or switch.

This is the same guide that is on the cd.

I can do this, and set up the bridge. The router is set to dhcp so i do the same here. The led flashes green which means there is a wireless connection present and there is active traffic.

I ddi this as well and the instructions indicate the same, all you need to do is plug it in. When i open the browser and try to access the internet i get dns error no connection.

Let me say for the record that I think the instructions in the User Guide are clear as mud. :bah:
From the laptop, are you able to ping or tracert other computers by their numerical IP addresses?
If you go into the web configuration for the bridge and go to Control Panel --> Network Settings (for the Motorola bridge, that is), what do you see there?
