Sorry for the strange title. Here is my problem:
I have XP pro - 1 gig memory

I installed the software for my digital audio recorder - an Olympus DS-2 and
it orginally worked fine. However, I had a real bad virus/adware attack and
after all those files were removed I reinstalled the DS-6 software from
Olympus. It installs fine, however, whrn I plug the recorder into the USB
cable it seems to recognoze it as some sort of a music player and asks what
I want to do. The DS-6 software will not recognize the recorder to download
my files to the hard drive. I have unistalled and installed multiole times,
removed all traces each time from registry and still no joy. Any ideas would
be appreciated.

Please reply to dhughes@ncc1701.net because I don;t read this news group all
that often.

Thanks

Unfortunately, the attack on your computer has done more damage then you
thought.
You can try to run the system file checker ( sfc /scannow )
or do a repair install of your os.
