Video outputs stillOK.
Is this something usual with Onkyo and what could have caused it?

Is the speakers A switch off?

Nope. Played wit all the speaker switches, mute, set-up etc. A major fuse
blown only?

Check the digital audio connection at both the amp and the dvd player,my DVD player has lost audio several times,the ONKYO display reverts to "pro-logic". It could also be the digital cable

Yes but even the tuners and seperate DVD player didn't work.
Anyway I took it in for repair.

**One or more output stages has likely failed and the protection system has
disconnected the speakers. Either way, if you have to ask how to repair it,
I suggest you take it to a pro.
