Here is a way not to screw up your phone, and try and unlock it. Hope I'm able to post websites without pissing anyone off.

I wouldn't class Rod Speed a troll, not sure how I would describe him
though! :D

Just curious, but have you actually tried it?

What version do you put for the codes?

I found someone with a locked nokia 6610, but I haven't been able to get it to work. If you know how, I know someone who would be very thankful :)

yes. i have tried it many times.
what do u mean what version?
you just select the model and network and go
but there is a maximum number of failed attempts before the phone needs to
be unlocked using a cable (not just an ordinary data cable)

What version??? I think he means, what do you select for GEN (eg New
Griffin, V1 etc,)

You also need the IMEI.

So you don't "just select the model and network and go"

Do resellers like, say, Virgin use the same algorithms as the network that
they resell?

Also, when I tried this I received 7 different codes. Will any of them
work?

Generally you use the 7th or 1st code in the list.

you select the phone model as it will decide for you which "box" or "gen" to
use.
almost all phones are related to one of them, with a few rare exceptions.
and as previously stated, try 7, then 1
