I have even unplugged my DVD player. I have found it strange that the picture is working and not the audio. However, I do think my DVD player may not be on stereo, but I do not know how to change it. Do you know how?

Got to go into the settings for audio.Maybe it is set for digital output if so you need to connect coax or optical cable to a digital receiver,if your not using digital output change the setting, 2ch stereo was just an eg.
Don't know the unit,on the remote press setup look up settings for audio, and change things.
good luck.

Yep there's a button for set up, as well as a button for audio. It seems there is a limited audio choice by the comments about down conversion, but 2 channel audio or digital can be achieved, comments made was that be careful on connections as it is cramped at the back double check your connections.again good luck.

LOL I'll bite...The Dvd deck does not have an amplifier (pre amp maybe).
the basic set up for audio,2 cables connected to the L & R analog audio outs of the dvd deck the other ends of these 2 cables should be connected to a stereo TV audio IN or a stereo amp audio in.
