Just thinking how the new Jag XK looks too much like a Hyundai Tiburon, and
thought I compile a list of other design ripoffs:

JaguarXK/Hyundai Tiburon
It looks nothing like a Jag...

Benz C Class Hatch/Ford Laser KJ Lynx
WTF were MB thinking?

BMW Z3/Mazda MX5
So close you can actually buy a kit to turn an MX5 into a Z3 (beats me why
anyone would)

VN Commodore/EA Falcon
Not so similar but they both went from smaller squarer designs to fat egg
cars at the same time. Who ripped off who?

Toyota MR2/Porsche Boxster
Smaller Uglier Slower. The Boxster was already all of these things to start
with.

Hyundai Sonata/ VY Commodore
From the front at least

Others?

I don't like the MX5 much either, it's basically still a 20-year-old look,
especially from the rear, where most people view them from :)

The difference in size between VL and VN was much larger than between XF and
EA. This was a deliberate move by Holden. It is how Holden finally admitted
that they should never have built a car the size of the VB in Australia.

You're right, it was based on the XF though. I have never once seen one on
the roads though.

The XF Falcon ute was also sold as the Nissan Ute, for a short time.

It read to me like he didn't know they were the same. That's not ripping
off, it's badge engineering. Totally different thing.

Looks very Jag to me, the headlights would be the closest to a Tib,
buts nothing else.

There a pic in the back of the latest Motor mag showing the rear of
some MB and an AU, almost identical.

Goes back to the Euro influenced 'bubble shape', the EA looks very
much like the pommy Granada of the late 80's. VN similar.
