Hi All,
Have a key-boot lock on my car which I'd like to add a remote access
capability.
Guess I need some sort of remote receiver and actuator combination.
Anyone know where I can buy one in Sydney or on-line in Australia?
Thanks
Sonny

Auto parts store would be a good start.

What sort of car?
it may have had a factory option for an electric boot release, then just a
matter of hoocking up the factory unit to an alarm via a relay.

Yeah I guess It took me just under a day to install this kind of setup into
an old HQ including an alarm, central locking, electric boot release with
remote opening and internal button.

into a Fairlane in 4½ hours

Be very carefull there, when adding such devices to MG's the extra weight of
the boot solinoids and relevant cableing can cause the car to handle like
shit and brake very poorly.
Well every one that Ive seen with a boot release has done so........... or a
boot even for that matter............

Silly me. Instead of driving my car about and enjoying myself, I really
should be sitting at my computer waiting for a "waste-of-time" response
from people like you.
I thank you for your very thoughful reply. What cracks me up is that it
probably took you an hour to type it out.
By the way. If you want to attack my car brand/make, go ahead as I
really don't care. This is because I'm sure no matter what I've got,
you car is a million times better.
Have a nice day.

Lighten up dude!
Ive owned an MG, only one mind you, sold it shortely after buying it.
Hey, if MGs tickle your fancy go for it. Theres a bunch of other people that
do.
I wont (seriously) bag anyone for likeing a particular type of vehicle. I
like Toyotas, you probably dont, I can appreciate that.
This NG is mostely very jovial hence my post .

In that case, I apologise. As you have owned an MG, you understand their
"quirks". I guess I get sick of people making stupid and often jealous
comments about something they don't won and often their information is
based on what a mate's mate told them.
As I always say, the last thing the British ever engineered of any value
or quality was the Spitfire in WWII. After that, it all went down hill.
Still, I love my MG and spending a crap-load of money to keep it on the
road just makes it all that more special to me ;-)
Apologies for the initial aggression.

No worries.
Seen an MG at the local car show with a number plate that pretty much sums
up MGs to a Tee.
Plate read "SPONGE"
BTW. the best MG that Ive ever seen was powered by a 4AGE Toyota motor with
matching celica box. Upgraded suspention and rewired totally. I spoke tothe
owner who says that since the Jappa conversion and rewire the cars never
even missed a beat nor broken down. Runs sweet as a chocolate coated
chocloate bar and he said its the best thing hes ever done car wise.
Nice match and boy could it fly, even handled pretty well.
Enjoy your toy.
