I have a Sony 3000ES bought some 16 months ago and have recently added a Foxtel digital decoder. Using either the Video 1, 2 or 3 inputs causes the Foxtel signal to momementarily lose sync some half dozen times each hour.

This does not occur if I plug either the DVD or other device into these video inputs.

This issue is not related to the original 3000ES factory defect sync problem which Sony has since fixed for me.

Sony insist that the loss of sync is caused by the Foxtel decoder which they claim requires a software update. Foxtel claim that is rubbish and they have never heard of it and that Sony are passing the buck. Meanwhile I am stuck in the middle with an annoying fault.

Has anyone experienced similar problems or know of any fix?

Thank you.

Hi Sunseeker

Is the sync problem between video and sound or does just the video signal not appear ??/

Have you tried the TV/SAT input combined with the optical fibre for sound ???

Not sure whether you have tried sony forum at http://www.agoraquest.com/
for any advice but may be useful

Goodluck.

The only remaining component input on the 3000 receiver is taken up by the HDTV. I have no choice but to use the composite inputs.

so your upscaling the composite to component....don't you have a second
component input on your display device..? cheers Trev
