They do make a HT whine, but it's quieter than a normal CRT TV.
If you put your ear close to the back of them, you can hear them
running, but it's a non issue from normal seating distance - again like
a normal TV.

I can laugh at myself and I do not try to take everything
sooooo seriously all the time. As you are well discovering
these NGs are only places to discuss our passions about our
hobby it isn't like we are deciding the fate of the
Universe. I believe we *all* could lighten up a bit :-)

Already have a plasma at home, can't hear it buzz unless I stand at the
back of it and put my ear to to it.

And don't forget for those who have a low flicker threshold, you'll see
DLP rainbows. DLP rear pro's and for that case any rear pro's still
have poor viewing angles and need a decent sized room, the best rptv's
for this though are the Sony Grand Wega's, but at the end of the day
why bother with RPTV? you may as well invest in a good front projector
for less money and have a far larger picture. Drawback though is you
need a proper room.
Overrall if you want the closest to CRT, a good plasma.
Simple if you want to hook your screen up to a PC for long periods or
you want a screen under 42", get an LCD. If you want good colour,
contrast and good value for money, etc get a Plasma.

Pioneer are making record losses given the competition for their plasmas.
Pioneer make the best plasmas going around but they cant sell enough of them to make a buck due to the price competition out of China and for some reason customers thinking LCD are the better buy.

Sorry have to disagree.
IMHO, the new Panasonics shit all over the Pioneers. My boss went and
saw the new Pioneer 50" at the unveiling and was not impressed out,
saying he thought he Philips & Panasonics were far better.
For that we had the 42" & 50" Philips and the 42" & 50" Pioneer sitting
next to eachother, and the Philips put them to shame.

Other than the LG's & Humax, no one elses Plasmas have tuners inbuilt.
