Telemarketers - Do Not Call Register

Senator "Useless" Coonan has released a discussion paper on the proposed "Do
Not Call" register (the plan to thwart telemarketers).

However, note that in the discussion paper, there is talk of individuals and
small business having to pay to join the register! (reference: page 28 -
9.3 Should individuals and small included on a register?) What a joke, when
it is the telemarketers themselves that should be funding this register!!

However it is not too late yet. You may make comments and submissions on the
proposal by e-mailing: donotcall@dcita.gov.au .

There shouldnt be any exemptions as well - kind of defeats the purpose of
having the register. Most of the telemarketer calls that I get are for
organisations that fall within the scope of what the discussion paper wants
considered for exemption

No one should have to take special action to be placed
on another fucking LIST that some bastard can use
for purposes other than that intended.

The DEFAULT position is our privacy.. the COSTS
of telemarketing must be borne by those who
support the idea.. NOT those who oppose it.

The register must be OPT-IN.. not OPT-OUT.

It's amazing how this gov't is falling over itself to appease the
telemarketing industry, while the actual people hate them and want something
done. They just want to bring in some lame paper-based thing so they can
say there's a remedy for people who are angry about telemarketers. Pay
heaps. put your name in the lottery, learn the secret password...

Ray Martin is on the case now! He had one of his "journalists" bailing up up
an Indian security guard at a call centre in India demanding to know what he
was going to do about it. Rather funny, I think he's trying to appeal to
peoples' frustration with telemarketers. "yeah, you tell 'im Ray, teach that
security guard on $2 a day a real lesson".

that fucks them off. He maybe we could introduce the death penalty in such a
way the we got to shoot the fucker that rang us. Telemarketers they all just

Sounds like you have more of a problem than they do.

Perhaps the following can inspire an equivalent tactic for telemarketers...


"I went to the shops the other day, and I was in there for only about 5
minutes. When I came out there was a damn cop writing a parking ticket.
So I went up to him and said, 'Come on, how about giving me a break?'"


He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So I called him a
pencil-necked member of the One Nation party. He glared at me and
started writing another ticket for having worn tyres!

So I called him a piece of horse-shit. He finished the second ticket and
put it on the windscreen with the first. Then he started writing a third
ticket! This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the
more tickets he wrote.

I screamed at him. Yet another ticket. 'Council parasite' I shouted
again.

His hand wrote furiously as his neck went a deeper shade of purple and
his blood pressure mounted and his breathing got heavier.
I walked off.
I didn't care.
My car was parked around the corner.......
