Just looking for advice on this subject.

I've a budget of 'up to' about a grand to spend and essentially wanna get a dvd recorder with built in hard drive....

The thing is I have a wealth of doco's and things I've taped from tv over the years that i would like to transfer to dvd also.

Having bought a video capture / usb cord two years ago I was less than impressed with the results and was looking for comments from anyone on the way to go here...dvd recorder / vhs hybrid or dvd recorder hd with inputs for an external vhs

comments appreciated

DVD recorder with HDD is ideal for this, plenty available within your budget.

the dub is very good as long as you use a quality setting ie XP(1hr) SP(2hr),a good recorder should have enhancer settings built in for video transfer eg Panasonic & Pioneer. But of late I use my PC more as the edit software has become more advanced than the stand alone recorder. But for true HD recording you can't go past the AVIO range of HD recorders.
