I think it's original.
I love that ad. It's the best I've seen in years.

It's a great ad, here's a site dedicated to it (and the making of the
ad). Check it out at <http://www.bravia-advert.com/> there's various
versions of the ad you can view and download in Quicktime format.
To answer the original poster's question, the song used in the ad is
"Heartbeats" by José González, (who's Swedish incidentally).

Thanks. When I saw it, I was questioning whether or not it was CGI.. turns
out it was the real thing.

Interesting ad, I'm just wondering how they went about catching all the
balls afterwards? I know they set up huge nets, but you can't control the
direction all of them go in, and a ball going down a steep hill like that
could potentially end up miles away..
Also you'll notice that all the cars parked on the street are old junkers -
you'd hardly have the local residents agreeing to keep their expensive cars
parked out there with hundreds of balls bouncing down the street - a panel
beaters nightmare!

I've only ever seen/heard the end of that ad until tonight, and until
then I would have sworn it was the Red House Painters. Very similar
sound.

Yep, the song was in the movie "Miss Sweden", which I just happened to catch
on World Movies while surfing. The lyrics were in Swedish, but I think in
the Sony ad they may have been translated to English.
