I was at the new car show here in Arizona last night. Had the Mitsubishi
display across the aisle from Hyundai. I think Mitsi would have been wise
to base the new Galant/380 on it's sister car the Sonata instead of what
it is now.
The Sonata interior was much nicer in my opinion, and better styling all
around the exterior. Scott

You're a laugh.
From the article you quoted...
The 380 is a well-turned-out vehicle but the price is a little too high
in our opinion and this can only hurt the car's resale value once prices
start to get trimmed. And resale value is the biggest cost of car
ownership. Had the 380 been a couple of thousand dollars cheaper, it
would have won.
This leaves the Ford Falcon at the top of the class. In our opinion, it
has the best blend of power, performance, equipment, roominess and
value, once the life of the car is taken into account. It's a big car
for a big country but, even in its most basic guise, we can't help but
be attracted to its rugged charm.

Funny init...It's exactly the same price as the Commodore and Falcon,
better appointed and better built with a better warranty.

As also quoted from the article
Falcon
RRP: $35,880.
Engine: 4.0-litre, in-line six-cylinder.
Power: 190kW at 5250rpm, 383Nm at 2500rpm.
Transmission: Four-speed automatic with manual override.
Claimed fuel consumption: 10.9 litres/100km.
Holden
RRP: $35,900.
Engine: 3.6-litre V6.
Power: 175kW at 6000rpm, 320Nm at 2800rpm.
Transmission: Four-speed automatic.
Claimed fuel consumption: 11.1 litres/100km.
380
RRP: $35,990.
Engine: 3.8-litre V6.
Power: 175kW at 5250rpm, 343Nm at 4000rpm.
Transmission: Five-speed automatic with manual override.
Claimed fuel consumption: 10.8 litres/100km.
Why does a vehicle that has a 5 speed auto with manual overide, and
gets better fuel consumption from a similar power output, with better
warranty and at least the same trim level,
Need to be priced a couple of thousand cheaper?
Seems to me the writer is just a little off base here.

Not better in your opinion, Just better engineered and manufactured.
Impaired rear vision?
Why? It has no bootlid obstruction ... have you sat in a Commodore?
Bwaaahahhahahahahahahaaaa!
No RWD ute?
They make a Triton for that!
I struggle to understand why Holden and Ford bother with a sedan based
ute when it flys directly in competition with their 'proper' work
vehicles.

Because it's not as good as the Falcon or the Commodore? Because the resale
on Magnas is traditionally awful? Take your pick.
