Plugging into USB port = Blue Screen

Just recently I've been having problems plugging things (camera, mp3
player) into my USB port. Twice in the past few days, I've plugged into
the USB, and the blue screen shows up. What does this mean, and is
there anything I can do about it? I haven't seen the blue screen in a
while, so this is a little disconcerting. I did just purchase a new mp3
player recently, and was wondering if it had anything to do with a bad
connection. Please help, anybody...

Another problem! I just realized that everything from my Mozilla
browser was erased! All of my bookmarks are gone?? What could explain
this? The previous blue screen have anything to do with this??
