View Full Version : Auto screen-width adjustment with Foxtel

Hi. I have a 76cm CRT Sanyo TV. With a SCART cable from Foxtel digital to
AV1 it used to adjust the screen width automatically to suit the program,
ie. 4:3 or 16:9. About May or June this year it just stopped, requiring me
to adjust the picture. I suspected that Foxtel had changed its software or
signal.
No amount of changing configurations, cables or ports solves the problem.
Does anyone know what's going wrong? Do I have a faulty Foxtel digital
reciever. I think my TV is OK, because it sometimes adjusts for DVDs.
thanks,
Kev

I have my Pace 420 set to 16:9, same as my TV. The Fox box automatically plays everything with the
correct ratio.

Make sure you have set in setup menu adjust ratio via TV and this should do
it via the SCART cable.
How do you find the Sanyo TV? I have seen these in K Mart and thought they
were good value for money

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it doesn't matter if I set it to adjust by TV or
STU, it still won't change the ratio.

The 76cm Sanyo is great. I got it at Target on special for $600, and it is
fantastic! I think they are usually more than that, but I can recommend it!

If your TV only "sometimes" adjusts for DVDs it may be the problem.
My Loewe still adjusts correctly, with no change over the period you mentioned. I have the aspect ratio set by the STU, and use SCART as teh connection method.

If anyone is interested, today Foxtel replaced their box and my TV now
auto-adjusts again, ie. the foxtel digital box was faulty.
