It is with mixed feelings that I have to announce that I will be leaving
you - for good. It won't happen for a couple of weeks, but I thought
I'd give you notice so you can prepare my farewell. I informed my
company today that I will not be extending my contract when it expires
at the end of the year. I have also asked to be released from my current
contract ASAP, but I haven't received an answer on this as yet. I have
been offered a completely different job where I will have no need to
access aus.tv, and as you know, I don't waste my time on usenet while
away from work. So once I finish up at my current job, I won't be
posting here. My email address will remain valid for a couple of weeks
so I can enjoy reading your farewell messages. I'm glad I could provide
you with so much entertainment over the past 7 or so years, and I really
do appreciate the fan email that I get bombarded with. To those
thin-skins, you won't even know I'm gone because you have me in your
killfiles - LOL - NOT. The bypass filters will all be disabled and
removed, so you are on your own folks. I hope aus.tv doesn't go back to
shit like it was before I intervened. Hopefully Vicki, Brandan and the
other morons will have learned their lessons or have grown up by now.
Good luck in the future. I'll let you know the exact date of my
departure as soon as I know myself. Special thanks to the Group
Moderator and e-Man for their help. Oh, and Jason Cornelius, there's
something special coming for you in the mail for christmas. LOL.

Your wit and good manners will be missed.

Give our best to Monty as you tie the knot and sail the Pacific on his yacht.

That was the DM. Whooooshhh! Farewell M.

Bye Siouxante. Although you are annoying, you will be missed. Now that you
are leaving, will you disclose some of your true details to us, such as your
job position, what you'll be moving on to do etc?

Here's something to remember us by.
An early Xmas present if you will:

Our 'TROLL FAQ' - Three Stooges Version

Q. What is a troll?
A. A troll is someone who posts in a way designed to annoy others.

Q. Why do they do it?
A. To get attention.

Standard troll tactics - This is not a comprehensive list, but some
common techniques used to try and annoy you are -

Posting spoilers, either in the subject field, or within the body
of totally un-related posts

Abusive posts, often containing sexist, racist or homophobic language

Constant name changing to avoid kill-files

Use of the X-No-Archive: message header to prevent their posts (ie,
the evidence) being preserved at google groups (note, not all trolls
use this, and not all who use it are trolls)

Cross-posting to totally un-related newsgroups in an attempt to widen
their disruption

Continually start topics that are not even vaguely on-topic.

Refusal to take responsibility for their actions, by doing this they
hope to troll you into an argument

How to defeat them - Four Simple Tips.

Ignore them. We mean it, no matter what the provocation - do not
respond to them in the group. If you must have a go at them
concerning their behaviour, do it in email. Even better, don't
- you're wasting your time.

Kill-file them, and when they change their name, kill-file them
again. And JUST kill-file them - resist the urge to post to the
newsgroup proclaiming that you are ignoring them, that doesn't
make much sense, does it?

Ignore all posts concerning or discussing them. Trolls love
this almost as much as direct attacks. Those who give them the
attention they crave by doing this are possibly well
intentioned, but foolish.

Think about the first three tips before you post.

About this FAQ.

Occasionally the posting of this FAQ draws some abuse/debate our way.
This bothers us not one iota. For the record -

We will post this whenever we like. To be reasonable, We'll try post
it every two minutes as we fit all the criteria above.

People being informed about trolls and common troll tactics is in
no possible way a negative for the group.

We will leave it up to the individual judgement of others as to why
certain parties get their noses out of joint whenever this FAQ is
posted. It shouldn't be too hard to work out.

If you are offended by our posting of this FAQ, then you have the
following options.

1. Ignore it
2. Kill-file the subject - We will try to make sure we always use the
same subject "Troll FAQ"
3. Kill-file me. We will be using the Three_Stooges@freemail.net.oz
address for the foreseeable future.

Byeeeee.

I think someone may be having a lend of us, I think Big Ln may have been
around as another name for a while

I will be very upset with him if this is true

If he really died I am still crying every 22 minutes for 37 seconds for
no reason

Doctor reckons it is PTSS

Not really. But the very fact that he jealously insists that he's female is
proof enough to me that he's not.
