View Full Version : Temporary tint

Is there anyway I can temporarily tint a car for a road trip? Just the front
windows. I assume those net things that you pull over the door for babies
are not allowed on the front.
Can I use that spray-on crap then clean it off afterward? How about using
some cheap tint from supercheap and ripping it off afterward?
Any other ideas? I guess it's probably too late to get the car into Option
tint before the 22nd, but I'll give it a try!

I'd suggest getting some cheap stuff, stretching/laying it out flat, take
off the backing, and attaching clear contact sticky side to sticky side.
Then cut to size and use double sided tape to attach to the inside of your
windows.
Won't be pretty, won't let you open the window, but it is temporary. No need
to sit there for hours scraping off the cheapo shit when you're done either.
Just be aware any 'temporary' solution will probably cause a good deal of
distortion. Best to test it out before the long trip.
Or you could just buy a good pair of sunnies and to hell with the tint.

The cheap stuff should just peel back off. I just took the tint off
my windows that i put on 2 years ago and it peeled off in one go
without leaving any crap behind on the window.

Thanks guys.... I can't see Jame's post yet, but basically you're both
saying the cheap do-it yourself stuff doesn't have very good adhesive? Good
stuff, I'll pull it off afterward.

Tom,
It sticks very well, but it can easily be pulled of in one piece.
Just pick a corner and off she comes. :-)
