4WD runs over sleeping beachgoers

Two British backpackers have been injured after being run over by a
four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle while sleeping on a beach on Fraser
Island off south-east Queensland.

Didn't those Poms know that 4WD's hunt at low tide there?

Given the width of UK 'A' roads, they couldn't have possibly realised
it was a highway! ;-)

Sleeping!!!

Reminds me of the train that just managed to stop for Sambo and Topsy.

Train driver: "Why the fuck didn't you get off the tracks when I blew
the whistle?"

Sambo: "Well it's like this -- You was a comin', she was comin', I was
comin', and you're the only one got brakes!"

Is it the 4wd's at fault here? Or is it the fact that 4wd's are allowed on
the beach? or is it that the people were sleeping where they shouldn't...

OK there isn't much chance of a 2wd getting along Fraser's coast, but I
don't think the 4wd is to blame itself. It actually is a registered "road",
and so by sleeping on such, you are not only risking being swept away at
high tide, nasty crabs and dingoes, but also the odd motorvehicle or two,
particularly during peak tourist season...

I'd hazard a guess that Toby is taking the piss.

Time to put up signs for the stupid again. "Please Dont Sleep On The
Road" "Dont Run With Scissors" "Dont Put The Barrel In Your Mouth And
Pull The Trigger" "Dont Lick Running Chainsaws" etc...

Well, it's evidently a gazetted road, because the CopperScum 'police'
it.
Just that someone forgot to tell the poor Poms they were visiting a
Police State - which is fucken funny as hell, 'cause they started it -
and if they'd been aware of history, they sure as hell wouldn't have
got pissed and/or been shagging in the middle of the road.
(Ok, so I don't know what they were really doing, 'cause there was no
comment from the driver whether he hit one or two bumps)

Like the famous Husqvarna sticker on the chainsaw bar along the lines of
-
"Avoid contact with genitals while operating" Cheers
