Got a phone call from Dad, saying he had a flat tyre on the EA Falcon he
brought 6 months earlier and couldn't get the wheel off, got round there he
had a pair 50+ mates who had tried various sockets to get the mag wheel off,
and asked if I had a deep 18mm, didn't but on closer inspection it was a
locknut, none of them had seen them before, so a quick search luckily
revealed the keynut hiding in the centre console, "is that what that is?"

Anyway tyre is off go to slide spare on, hub hole is too small but bolts
seem to line up, it's not the right spare tyre, luckily my youngest brother
who lived a couple of suburbs away has an EA and we borrowed his.

But Jeez that pisses you off they people swap spare tyres at car yards. And
you just know some other sucker is trying to fit a Falcon rim to something
else at some stage too.

My brother also reckoned EA were diff wheel pattern to earlier models , so
we couldn't have borrowed Mums Fairlaine spare either.

I hate car dealers.

I purchased a van from a dealer a few years back and a few days later I noticed there was no spare
wheel. I rang them up and they accused me of trying to rip them off. They threatened to put the
cops onto me. I dared them to but nothing happened, of course.

Suffice to say a couple of days later they discovered another van in their yard was sitting on
bricks on one side one morning, And suddenly I had 2 spares instead of 1. :-)

All five stud Falcon wheels have the same bolt pattern.

The differences are large centre hole from the mid '70's on, and then a
centre offset change with the AU.

Why would the car yard bother stuffing about with the spares?

Probably stolen by the previous owner who couldn't recognise the make
he took it from in the dark!...

What sort of son would allow the poor old bugger to buy his car from a
dealer anyway? :)

David, can I ask you a serious question? Why the fuck do you hang around
here?

I mean, you *know* everyone here thinks you're a fucking moron and would
like to see you die a horribly slow & painful death, yet you continue to
subject yourself to ongoing bouts of abuse simply be being here.

Is it because your personal life is so tragically miserable that this place
is the best you can do for entertainment or what?

They do, a mate told me a yard he went to had all the spares locked together
in a shed out the back, that way the customers could pick anyone they

Sheesh, I'd be a bit worried when it came down to the last pick... who

There never is a last pick, as more keep coming in, the standard just
declines I suppose
