Upon going away i turned off the power and arriving home I have turned it on but Foxtel will not work.

The red standby light is flashing

I rang Foxtel and they said check all plugs and push TVGuide did not fix problem.

The batteries in the remote are working

Foxtel have said they need to come out - two days time and could cost $75 to fix.

Any assistance would be appreciate. Please make your reply simple as I am not a technican

Thanks

Try pulling the card out and pushing it back in.

Thanks done that.
Did a Forced download as suggested - now all lights on. Turn power off then on and all lights remain on- seems Foxtel will probably get its $75.

Rather give the $75 to charity than Foxtel!!

Another thing to try is disconnecting the antenna (for want of a better word) cable from the wall and the STB and reconnecting them. I once had a problem with this cable (a little surface corrosion?) that prevented reception and was fixed by doing this.

Unless you have damaged the unit through negligence I can't see why you
would be giving them any money. Would like to hear more about this.
