Was going to go buy a Belkin surge protector like this one;

Anyone seen any electrical sales at harvey normans / myers other that
I can find a good price on one - considering they normally sell around
the $300 mark...

Im getting concerned - three friends with fried equipment in the last
3 months - all due to electrical storms / lightning....

It will give you far superior surge protection and battery backup in case of
power failure, AND IT WILL ONLY COST ABOUT $150

City Software sell them for ~$170, part no BEL0262.
