Hi all,

just got the pioneer dv-686a player to replace my old ancient player. plugged it all in, 5.1 speakers into the jacks leading to the speakers, s-video out. set up the options for 5.1 and all, but no matter what dvd i put in, it ends up being 2.1 sound when you check audio while a movie is playing... now i'm worrying because i think i've tried all the options on the dvd player. the speakers are a lenoxx 5.1 set (can't remember the model any more). does anyone have any ideas or knowledge of this sort of problem? do i need to think aobut an av unit, as much as i can't afford one atm lol. is that the only way to get around this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

thanks,
sam.

I assume your lenoxx speakers have their own power supply for amplification of the sound. You may need to go into the menu in your dvd player and switch all the speakers on.
