I have just gotten a Samsung HD ready rear projection TV and a Kaon HD set
top box.
I have connected everything up including my LG DVD/VCR combo.
I can get digital broadcasts but if I want to see what I have on tape I have
to return to the analogue station that the DVD/VCR combo is tuned into. The
picture is not good and I can't record digital TV that way.
I have the red, yellow and white leads going from the DVD/VCR to the TV.
I have the red, green, blue, white and red leads going from the STB to the
TV.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanks
KS

Switch your TV onto AV2 or whatever the sockets on the TV are labeled, that
you have the VCR/DVD unit connected to.
To record digital TV, you need to also hook the SetTopBox up to the INPUTS
of the VCR/DVD Combo & put the DVD/VCR onto AV mode.

Unfortunately no .
The red and white leads are stereo sound and the yellow is composite video ,
old technology
The red green blue are newer component video which is output from the
digital set top box , its superior to the yellow composite signal output
from your video . I would think the DVD player maybe better than your video
, even with this composite signal .
You will only be able to record the digital tv if you could output the
signal into the video , however its not a DIGITAL recording rather a digital
to analogue which is not the same quality .
Sounds like you need a hard disk based recorder for digital TV like the
Topfield for example
