Umm, it's probably best to do your research before you order a TV.

In case you aren't aware Grundig of old is no more. The company went broke
(quality just doesn't sell) & sold the name to someone else (said to be
Turkish owned from memory). I think most products are now made in China. I
bought two DVD players & whilst the build quality is okay they are basically
crap. The remotes are hit & miss & they only play DVD-Rs when they feel like
it. In fact a disk one day will play perfectly then next time it is inserted
it reports "No Disk". They also skip chapters frequently, the same disks
when checked with a PC diagnostic programme report no errors!
I suspect they kept some standards as the remote also worked with our
original German Grundig TV (now defunct). I believe that many consumers
aren't aware that the original German made Grundig (sheer engineering
perfection) has gone. I think you will find the TV is acceptable but no
where near the quality of the old Grundig. BTW did you buy your TV on eBay,
there seems to be a seller that sells heaps, although I see some of the
retailers are now selling them!
I hope you find the TV okay, I think being less complex than a DVD player
then you will be happy enough with it!

I suspect the Grundig Elegance you've ordered is old stock, made in Austria. If so, you've got a great TV there. Grundig's were one of the best CRTs ever made with fantastic picture quality.
Unfortunately, the company went broke a couple of years back and is now a completely different organisation and the only TV it makes for the aust mkt are plasma/lcd..

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grundig
"At the end of June 2000 the company relocated its headquarters in Fürth
and Nuremberg, and Grundig took a loss of €1.281 million the following
year. In the autumn of 2002, the Grundig's banks did not extend the
company's lines of credit, leaving the company with a April 2003
deadline to announce insolvency. Grundig AG declared bankruptcy in 2003,
selling its satellite equipment division to Thomson. In 2004, Alba plc
and Beko Elektronik A.S. jointly took over Grundig Home InterMedia
System (HIS), Grundig's consumer electronics division.
Currently, the Alba/Beko consortium retain control of Grundig, although
in the United States, products marketed under the Grundig brand are
manufactured by the Eton Corporation (formerly Lextronix), based in Palo
Alto, California."
