Hi
Can anyone help? I am unable to install my Logitech Messenger Web cam
drivers etc, I am usung XP Home Edition with service pack 2, I have tried
installing the latest exe file (qc848enu.exe) from the Logitech site and
using their Clean Boot advice but it is the same, all appears to be ok and
installing the camera software but then Windows reports an error "Device
Removal Module has encountered a problem and needs to close" then it freezes
and will not even close? I have sent a error report but not received a reply
or any thing.
The report contains "AppName: deldev.exe AppVer: 8.4.7.1031 ModName:
ntdll.dll" etc, not sure if this will help?

Has any one seen this before and knows how to fix it? This is on a Medion PC
with Win XP pre-loaded and other applications install fine. I have never
tried this kind of help before and hope I do not have to format & reload XP
again!!

I'm having the same problem on a Dell Dimension 2400 with Windows XP
Home. I sure hope someone has an answer. Logitech's advice was to see
if I can successfully install it on another computer which I could.
They weren't much help.

Here's a solution to this problem I found on the Logitech Forum by John C:

SOLUTION
I had the same problem with trying to install ver 8.4.8 and 8.4.1. Below is
the solution to this issue.

This is going to seem to simple, but it works.

Use Windows Explorer to navigate your way to: C:\Program Files\Logitech.
Then search that folder for DELDEV.EXE.

Then DELETE that file. Yes, that's right; delete DELDEV.EXE

In this folder: "C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCamWebInstall" you will find
"setup.exe". Just run that and you'll be good to go
