View Full Version : Breakup when a plane or helicopter flies over...

....I live near a police chopper HQ, and in good conditions it always
seems to take off and fly over my house. (I have nothing illegal in
the backyard). My SD STB always breaks up really badly. Same with
other aircraft. Can any techies tell us what's the deal? Is it the
same with all digital TV? Coz then I'd be likely to contribute to that
other thread & say that Digital TV is shit, & let's keep the analogue
transmission - was watching Wonderfalls on Nein yesterday, and for
anyone who's seen it, the dialogue is the best bit. I missed a good 10
seconds of witty dialogue. Kind of like if you deleted my post without
reading it.
Seriously though, is this "break up" in transmission a problem for
others?

Breaking transmission, given the "benefits" that dtv has brought, is an
absolute pain in the clacker.
What I don't get is how, given that both analogue and digital are
effectively radio wave carried, why digital is broken up more in, say,
a storm. Is it due to the physical content of the signal embedded?
