Wonder if he smoked em off the line or just broke traction? A little harsh
eh.

I've always found New Zealand coppers to be very accomodating and friendly
myself, but you get the odd bastard everywhere. Still, the story doesn't say
a whole heap.

I can only reiterate my previous criticisms (and debate) about many of these "wonder laws" that hand police a tool that
only few of them can administer intelligently.....

Yeah, just spent two weeks there and traffic much better these days than
previous years. Generally if your driving a decent non modified vehicle at
slightly above or below the limit they leave you alone.

Found it difficult to stick to the 50 limit there. Almost all areas around
me are 60(ish).

Was just nice to cool down for two weeks and then got back to 60% humidity
and 30degrees. :-(

We have the similar laws in NSW.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't lighting it up bigtime.

considering traction control is standard, he would of had to of disabled it
intentionally to do it.

Traction control systems only have limited scope as to how they
manage the output. UNintentional wheelspin is still possible in most
cars fitted with traction controls. Only the traction control
systems that actively apply brakes on driven wheels have sufficient
scope to *minimise* wheelspin under most conditions.

Its a Mercedes, its going to have the best traction control, with electronic
braking and control of the electronic throttle. In short, there's no way
this would of happened unintentionally he would of done it on purpose. The
electronic throttle isn't even calibrated to be super sensitive closed, but
progressively more sensitive the further you floor it.
