I have a Nokia 6600 and suddenly when I started it up "General System
Error" came up.
The phone loads rather slowly and then this appears.
Is there any way to recover my SMS Messages and Photos stored on the phone?
As some of them were from my ex-wife who past away 9 mths ago. I haven't
touched the phone since in hopes of recovering the data but no one has been
able to so this is a last resort.
Does anyone know if it's possible to recover the messages/data?
Thanks

suggest you check out http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,33684,00.html select
only Return & Repair Centres
use your postcode or nearest large town. Better let the experts have a look
at it messing about with it could make matters worse.

Bad advice, as part of the repair process involves wiping the phone of
all content and resetting back to factory defaults.

I was suggesting taking the phone and seeking the advice of the repair
centre regarding possible recovery of the photo/email and any other
phonebook contacts etc. not just leaving the phone with the instruction fix
it. Telling the experts the reason to save the data would give a positive
response from them.

From my experience with Nokia "service" centres, the desk drones don't have
a clue.
Maybe they are better in the UK than Oz?
