We have recently moved into a smaller house and my wife wants me to get rid
of my old floorstanding speakers due to the lack of space, and because we
have a 14 month old daughter. We plan to extend in the future, so the
compromise is, i get some sats for now, and get the system i really want
once we have extended. As much as i hate to admit it, she's right.

Soooo, I have never looked into sats before and im after some semi decent
ones. Im after a 5.1 system with the option of upgrading to 6.1 or 7.1.
Budget for 5.1 is $4000 max. Im after your opinions on Bose, B&W mt-20 or
mt-30, others. When i have some time i'll go and audition some around
Melbourne.

Currently they will be hooked up to Rotel rsp-1066 and rmb-1075. Looking at
getting a denon 3806 tho.

Thanks
Matt

Also consider the KEF's KHT 2005 system. http://www.kef.com/KHT/KHT2005.2/home.htm

They use the Uni-Q drivers and I've always been impressed with the sound. They were on top of my list for a satellite kit before I got the Jamo D6 PTXs.

I have just recently purchased a set of Tannoys, DC2 DC1 DCC. These are
the larger floor standing and bokkshelf speakers.
However I reacon for the money they are just about the best thing
going.

I think that the satelites might be worth a listen. They also feature
dual concentric drivers etc
