I don't think that's a separate charge, because CTP is *included* with the
registration fee.

I can't speak for all states, but not in NSW it ain't. You have to get
a green slip (CTP insurance) plus a pink slip (vehicle inspection) if
needed, and present both when you re-register. (Unless you're doing it
on line, in which case the information is fed straight to the RTA when
you renew the green slip.)

Of course the green slip premium is based on the suburb where the car
is garaged, and the age of the driver and the age of the car.
Naturally [sarcasm on] it would be entirely inappropriate for the
premium to be based on the driver's accident history.
