This is how much the NSW really cares about road safety

ROAD safety training programs for children at kindergarten through to year
12 are being slashed by 30 per cent in a money-saving measure approved by
Roads Minister Joe Tripodi.......

Hey, Tripodi cares, man, he CARES! Remember the (kinda sorta) punch up
with Andrew Fraser last year? The one after Fraser had tried to make
the point, time and time again, that something needed to be done about
the Pacific Highway? Well, Tripodi did something alright. Dual
carriageways? Wider, better maintained roads?

Nope. Speed cameras. That'll solve everything. As soon as one of those
babies takes a picture of a car, it magically protects everyone on the
road. Even moreso when the fine arrives 6 weeks later.

1/ Politically correct disclaimer: Of course, Fraser's behaviour was
shocking, just shocking.
2/ Reality check: Now hands up any NSW driver who HASN'T wanted to
thump a current or former NSW Roads Minister at some point?

I couldnt believe that after the joke that was Scully, we could have such a
mediocre minister in that position again. It seems NSW scrapes the bottom of
the barrel in the politician stakes.

Dunno about that, but there are plenty of bottoms *in* the barrel!
