Could not agree more:

"Beginning next Wednesday, only vehicles manufactured by Ford or one of
its subsidiaries can be parked on the plant site."

Far too soft, non Ford owner/driver but worker can f_off. "your fired"

If the idiots started making some decent cars maybe their workers would
want to drive them.
A plant manager who tried something so stupid here wouldn't last a week.

If you drove a ford manufactured in that plant and it developed a fault
that caused an accident, would you sue yourself?

I can imagine all these staffers rocking up in their Aston Martins and the

Wouldn't have happened in Henry Ford's day. He would have had nowhere to
park his Rolls-Royce (with original engine).

Thats hardly fair. The cheapest car in the Ford range over there is the
Focus ($13,995)
Meanwhile GM have the Aveo ($9,890), and Toyota, Hyundai, and Kia of course
all have cheaper vehicles too.

Pretty soon everyone on a Ford site will be driving Caterpillars :-)

Its absurd. Can you imagine if a BMW plant only allowed BMW-driving
employees to park there, or a what about a Porsche plant?

Ford need to buy Diesel motors off CAT, the current 6L-V8 has been a
total disaster, the prior [and still avail. here in Oz] 7.3 PowerStroke
gave a ounce of problems -v- the current job...

Indeed:-)

Henry being of Irish stock, most likely hated the Poms and its
products, [he took their money anyway] he must have purchased the RR
because of his similar *brother* :

Having worked for Ford for 8 years I understand a bit of how they think.
They are a bit brainwashed about what they do and there is even a
certain amount of that here amongst management types but I'd bet if they
tried crap like that in Australia there would be a riot at Campbellfield
resulting is said managements types ending up bruised and battered.

Thats part of what I meant, it would seem that a lot of the workers
aren't all that proud of their work.
