You'll be needing a bigger toolkit than that if you get one.

Yep - just like any other 40 year-old car!

I had a 1964 Mk II - when it was just two years old - even with the 2.4l engine it cruised quietly at 80 MPH. It
cornered and *stopped* like the thoroughbred it was. A delight to own....

You have 3 mark IIs? Nice looking car but would be much better with a late
model Lexus motor. The 2.4 is the worst of the bunch.

makes induction roar almost bearable , the 4.2 in the 420g used to be
really bad before I added injection , now its much quieter ( triple
carbs tend to make some very cool noises)

I don't know, it's not without its charm.

Knowledge of older Jags is severely lacking, but the engine bay
looks quite a sight... though probably a prick to work on. :P

Chop the roof and it'll be a real looker!

So did I, back in 1971. Damn nice car, handled well, would have
liked a bigger motor :-)
Used to get 25 MPG out of it.

Old fashioned air cleaner.
Was common on MKI, MKII and these later 240/340 models.

behind a tow-wagon) ;o)

Has been done many times.
Here is one.

There is a guy in NZ who fits Supercharged V8's in the MKII's,
along with the Jaguar X300 V8 interior, suspension, brakes, etc.
Very nice :-)
