Hi ALL
Reading some DIY bass trap and acoustic panel pages from the states they
recommend using a fabric called Burlap to cover them with.
This is a loose weave fabric which does not reflect too much sound.
I asked local fabric stores and they did not know what Burlap was so good
old google was asked.
It came back with sacking/hessian/jute.
Can anyone tell me if this is one and the same. use a type of hessian
sacking on the bass traps.
Thanks

it is - but from memory it is a prettier version of it, used in the garment
industry more than for sacks etc.

but why wouldn't you use speaker cloth? Bass is less affected by it than
higher frequencies isn't it?

from memory burlap is sacking material but not quite as coarse as hessian.

Bass would not be affected at all by burlap either! (unless you used 100
layers of it ...
