It looks rather nice, [designed in Italy] and also has a very competive
output of 102kW from its 2L. powerplant

This is the Chinese maker that recieved the LOWEST ever rating in a
crash test [As in the steering column impaled the driver]

My feeling its 50% to expensive for our market, no matter how good [or
bad]

You can buy a genuine Holden [Daewoo] for $13k....

Competitive with who? A VW Golf can manage 110kW from 2L.

Looking at the weight combined with its pissy little engine, I'd hate to
see what the specs are on something that's not competitive.

A good reason to avoid these cars like the plague.

I'm sure there will still be plenty of idiots lining up to buy 'em.

With a blazing 90kW to boot. Yikes. The old Valiant only weighs about
1200Kg.

Might have to pass on this one.

Perhaps they made a mistake and 1925 kg is actually the GVM.

You get short days? Oh, that's right, you don't work from home...

No, it doesn't help in the slightest. :-p This was a discussion about
the obesity of some useless little new _slug_ of a "car", not personal
obesity. :-)

Yep, as are lots of things.

The thing I've noticed that makes the biggest difference between "quality"
Chinese goods (a contradiction in terms) and the garden variety crap is the
management level of the business. Basically, there's a *huge* difference
between "a Japanese designed and owned product made in a Chinese factory
exploiting the cheap labour", and a product of totally Chinese design &
construction.

What the Chinese lack in design skill & quality control they make up for in
50cents per week workers. Same deal with anything made in India.
