Does anybody here have one of these ?

Our trusty Pioneer DVD player is on the way out and since our TV is high
definition I was thinking of getting a high-def player.

The LG 9921 one in particular because with a hack it can be forced to
upscale over Component.

What's the quality improvement playing normal DVD's?

I'm particularly interested to hear if there's much point in upscaling
DVD/DivX movies.

thanks
John

divx is encoded at most lkely 640x480 so even upconverted it will be
artefacty and blocky.

nevertheless, it is a decent player for the money and a good investment
while dvd players are in a bit of a state of flux.

check over at eyo and dba forums to see if people are discussing this model.
