GUN SALUTES IN ARLINGTON FOR GRANDMOTHER ARNOLD
FOR KIDNAPPED GRAND DAUGHTER OF THREE OLD
BY AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH AND HER PEOPLE.
Dear Mourners,
Here on Arnold Drive, we have saluted and passed the flag for the wife
of a warrior. A wife who has braved the turmoil in this world but the
turmoil of loosing a three-year grandchild Nara in Australia beckoned
her to join her husband in wild black yonder.
In the shadow of the Pentagon you have asked me to take you on a
warrior journey as experienced in the United States between our beloved
Pete and Debbie Arnold here resolved to the earth.
We have General Chris Arney looking on to the authenticity of all my
statements of love mixed with honor and valor.
So lets start with Monty Coffin, a West Point Graduate that became the
head of the Air Force Academy a colorful man whose work now influences
my son as he moves in and out of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and
Air Force Missile Laboratory. Then Arnold moves to from West Point and
Air Force to guide and be guided by Monty.
Yes I see you, Navy of America and I call forth William Fenn Hopkins
who really influenced Richard, Debbie's husband. A man that moved
from West Point to the US Naval Academy and who had a broad influence
on the Army, Navy and Civilian world. So many of you remember Richard
taking off on the Navy Ships.
An interesting man is Dr. Thomas Johnson a Presidential Science
Advisor, whose work is stacked on the library shelf next to Slyvanus
Thayer volumes, which are close by to Charles Davies. The family
library was full of military history and we discussed some on the beach
in Darien and Greenwich and Sometime in South Carolina and sometimes
while walking the bush for Turkey. We never said a damn thing on that
Tipsy Topsy West Point Golf Coarse, where it was strictly business.
The discussion about Edward Courtney, Richard maintained was because
the American War Schools were the only place to get a real scientific
background in the early days.
Now we get to some closer friends, Omar Bradley and Dwight Eisenhower.
Bradley taught Arnold mathematics at West Point. And that's what made
both of them good problem solvers.
I know I see some of you from the Corp of TOPOGRAPHICAL Engineers and
U.S. Coast Guard, who rescued me in Martha's Vineyard as my rented
helicopter landed on the roof of my rented boat. Then we have
Ordinance Corp friends and US Coast Survey here and Corp of Engineers.
Now only a few people know that West Point was founded to educate
engineers. Leslie Groves and Richard were best of friends as they built
the pentagon and many others Pentagon related things that General Lemay
would have enjoyed telling us!!!!
Now even the wheel chair for a warrior is fun to talk about!!! It is
the brainchild of Dr. Kenneth E. Siegenthalher USFA and wee built our
stuff with the same imagination and this imagination was applied to the
Boy Scout Pinewood Derby Track and Cars. As such the Air Force
Delivery, such as was that of Pete was always a very technical
delivery.
Arnolda a lovely place in Providence Rhode Island took us on a special
trip to the College of Naval Command and Staff. In beautiful Newport
Rhode Islands. The Arnolds were Calvinists in the past so there was a
mix of genealogy and navy thrown in with vim and vigor at the meetings
of National Security Decision Making. Here Pete thought that the
Army's General Staff Officer School in Fort Leavenworth in Kansas was
a more in depth course.
We all hear about President Bush being at Maxwell Air Force Base in
Alabama where Pete served Air Force Command and Staff College at
Maxwell Air Force Base, AL,. Then for our great Marine Corps Command
and Staff School in Quantico, VA, we have great things to talk about as
you encouraged Admiral Dennis Blair director of the Joint Staff to
bring all the teams together and Marine Corp Synergy.
Knowing Pete Arnold desire to be a warrior in thought to the end I
would take him to the Stevens Institute which had a grant from the
Mitre Corporation and the Department of Systems Engineering at West
Point to hear the Future Army Combat Systems.
We had a way blowing their mind too. Ah ha Television and we took the
first journey from the westerns into the region of Star Wars The
Phantom Menace. Sabotage the Pod Racer I remember him saying!!!!
Outbreak was about a diseased monkey. He really liked it for some
reason.
We saw others movies together. The Matrix, Mission Impossible II, Top
Gun, and The Princess Bride. In the Matrix, he noticed one character
lifts another up the side of a large building. In Mission
Impossible, the thief needed the appropriate equipment that would lift
him and the weight of the cable out of a secure area. Top Gun
offered the same example with a helicopter-rescuing pilots floating
adrift in the sea. And in the Princess Bride, he thought the problem
was a bit more difficult, but simplifying the model made it possible to
calculate the work done to climb the Wall of Insanity.
In Star Trek IV, the earth needed to respond to an alien vessel
searching for humpback whales. They were extinct. In an effort to
save the planet, an engineer had to manufacture a "whale tank"
within their spaceship that could withstand time travel. To do so,
the engineer had to properly calculate the hydrostatic force of the
tank to ensure a safe return of the whales what a fun time we had
discussing this episode.
In Crossroads, the characters sought off on a cross-country trip. Up
until now I thought the movie had little to no value, but it
illustrated the difference between distance and displacement.
Now we a Grandson from the Astrodynamics and on the so-called "Star
Wars" program space defense system.
A granddaughter a movie producer in Hollywood
A grandson being a master Internet gamer and getting ready for college
to be a Doctor in Medicine.
A granddaughter Nara of three years old lost and captured as a hostage
in Australia.
So here you are the great community of Houston Texas, who have sent so
many Ambassadors to the great Wild down under I encourage you to make
them see the light.
As I see this light of capture has led to the death of a grandmother in
United States of America.
I know you won't abandon NARA.
