G'day,

I have many DVD/Divx/VCD/CD Players for sale.. Import places here in Australia are selling them for $300+ due to divX format being so popular but I would like to offer them for $240..

Now you can finally watch your huge collection of Divx movies on your TV.. PLEASE NOTE this is not an immitation player.. it is not some shabby SLim line PC case with pentium housing, HDD , memory, etc..

This is a TRUE Standalone Player that Plays all your DVD's (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc) DivX films (AVI format), VCD/SVCD, Audio CD's.

Email me if you are interested.. I have 40 left.. Next shippment will be 94 players in 3 months time.

Cheers :)

Sounds pretty cool. Would save having to decode DivX to VCD format.

What brand are the players? What kind of warrenty comes with them?

I agree - please post more information about this player... I have never heard of a divx player before.

AmandaDivx is a hacked version of Microsoft's MPEG4 code (stuffed into AVI since you can add codecs to it), and they have every right to sue anyone who even has the codec installed on their computer. It is infact a criminal offence to have it installed on your computer. The players are therefore a criminal offence to possess. Now don't say "It'll never happen", especially after Sony - the number one people who don't care about piracy made MOD chips illegal in the UK and confiscated all modified players and mod chips. To my knowledge they didn't replace them it was the people who modded/supplied the mod chips who had to replace the units.

Divx is a popular format for pirated movies on the net since it provides 5 or 6 times the quality of VCD. The format is, however, flawed. Lip-Sync is a huge problem and is time-stamped so that you can't pause it at a certain point (although you can pause the video and then wait for the audio). Not with the current software anyway.

In short Divx is not needed for anything commercial, except a few cheap porn sites (which are selling illegal video if it's Divx). It is not a legal format.

This guy is a phony. I sent him an E-Mail with the intent of purchasing one of his "super machines". He didn't even bother to answer me.

Then there's the issue of NTSC playback and DVD regions. Also notice how he calls DivX an AVI format when it is actually a hacked version of MPEG4 stuffed into an AVI codec? It's like we all know Computer .EXE and .COM files are diffrent, but if you say rename an EXE file to .COM it will still run (it is still an EXE file just nammed a COM file). Also, he has stated DD, DTS out put but hasn't bothered to tell us what outputs it has.

Some other things he "forgot" to mention include a remote control and english menus. For anything he hasn't specifically stated you should assume the worst.
