Farcry Instincts (Xbox) Vs. Farcry (PC)

I have played both and I was blown away by the graphics on the Xbox as compared to the meagre PS2 & PC. What are your thoughts people?

The PC ver was written along time before the xbox one was so yes the graphics will be better on the xbox. PS2 graphics were never any good IMO nether was PS1 even for its day.

I believe the graphics of xbox 360 will be better than those of the ps3 even though the ps3 is released later.

If you think xbox looks good just wait for a decent release on the 360.

I checked out fight night 3 on xbox 360 today and I was blown away at the level of detail that was there. I cant wait to get mine in a few weeks. Unfortunatly there arent that many great launch titles

Have you seen the 360 in action? Go to JB Hi fi they have one running and check out the game they have on. The graphics are great.

If you disagree with the ps2 part then I guess we have to agree to disagree on how good the ps2 graphics were.

I'm gonna have to agree with Linton Here.

The PC graphics are definetly better than Xbox . The only reason why the Xbox graphics probably looks better than your PC probably because of the specs.

The Ps3 IMO has better graphics than Xbox 360. Just check out Unreal Tournament, Killzone, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4. The possibilites are endless.... HAve you check out the E3 DVD yet? It shows just how much better the PS3 is.

I wasn't even that impressed with Xbox 360 In my opinion. Not going through anymore details than that.

Ok, I'm a little more awake now so I'll elaborate.

I have played PGR3 as well as NFS: MW on the 360, and as Fooni already mentioned, there is nothing I've seen in those two games that a PC couldn't do easily. That might change by the 3rd of 4th generation of games for the 360, but by then the PC would have a new generation too.

As for expecting the PS3 gfx to be worse than the 360's by comparing the ps2 to the xbox??
I won't touch that as it's just too wrong as it is. :)

Now, the psx was poor in it's day compared to what, the N64??
Place N64's best shooter alongside those from playstation, Perfect dark compared to the syphon filter series, metal gear solid, Medal of Honour, etc. The playstation shits it in.
RPG's, the N64 scraped by with the Zelda series, but then on playstation there was the final fantasy series, with it's FMV's, full audio scores etc.
Racing genre is the same story, so is fighting.
The playstation gave a lot better gaming experience than the 64 ever did in my opinion.

The only bit I agree with is that the ps2 has the least gfx power of the current 3 consoles (ps2, xbox, gamecube), but it still hasn't stopped them from putting out some great games.

I wasn't commenting on the difference of Farcry on the PC to Farcry on the Xbox, I havn't played the xbox version so I can't comment. I will say the PC version can look bloody good with the graphics maxed out though.

That's true, for a $250 machine it still looks good, but a 6600gt in a PC looks better and this video card is less than $200 new now.

As for the PC Vs xbox 360, you could buy a 7800gtx for around $700 or a 7900gtx for $1000-sih, or a $1000 for an xbox360 package. My comments were the xbox360 games I've played so far are not really that impressive when the same grafics were available on the PC 12 months ago. :rolling:

Its true that if you keep your PC up to date the PC graphics will shit all over any console.

However this can cost you a fortune. For eg over the last 18 months you would have needed a new mobo, CPU and graphics card because PCI Express came in and was now viable and faster than 8X AGP. Who knows what you will need to upgrade to in the next year but probably the 3 main components again and possibly more memory for Vista to cope properly.

If you have the latest PC hardware and run the latest game at max resolution and max settings it will still run slow

With consoles it will run properly and smoothly for 95% of the games.

The 360 games will be much better around xmas time and it will drop in price and may have a good package combo

I have given up on keeping my PC up to date and decided to use the 360 for my gaming and my PC for everything else.

I say consoles are now better for gaming except of cource for some strategy games that really need a mouse/keyboard combo.

If you could get a mouse/keyboard combo for a console though you could play all games.

Agreed, although we will have to wait and see for the PSIII release.
I saw that most of the 360 games have gotten pretty bad/average reviews apart from the classic call of duty 2. I'm awaiting the rpg titles!

Considering the graphics card the xbox posseses, the graphics of this game are quite amazing. I have seen a video comparing Farcry on a high-end pc with video settings on ultra-high, and the Xbox 360. I have to say the Xbox360 looks amazing, especially the rendering of the water, and apparently the view distance is up to 1km. Then again Farcry on PC is 2years old now, but it still remains one of my favourite games.
