My father in law blew a tyre on his X5. Had to get a new one and it cost
$760 dollars. And heres me thinking $250 a corner was expensive on my GTR.
Ridiculous.

Thats the premium you pay for a poser status symbol.
Bet the $250/corner tyres for the GTR perform better too ;)

Probably. They are 20 inch runflats on the X5. 335s as well. Wide as
hell.

Yep, my mate had to put 4 tyres on his at a similar price.
Tyre place was no help "Gotta go to the dealer for those, we carry nothing in that size"

I remember the few cars that had the Metric size wheels back in the mid
80s, Ford had them on the LTD and BMW also had them on some 5 series
problem was there were only two brands of tyres available in Australia
for such a small market so you can imagine the prices, around the $300
each, in 1990 that was certainly not cheap, I was at the Caltex in
Samford where they were fitting new tyres to a 5 series at $1800 for 4
of them, purchased from BMW who imported them especially for their cars

The only thing that beats that is stuff like Pirelli Corso types at
$900+ a tyre.
It was cheaper in fact to get them from Tyrerack in the US and have
them couriered in!

XJ40 Jags ran a metric wheel. It was cheaper to buy new wheels and tyres
than the metric tyres.

A mate had an older Beema that had something like 15 1/4 inch rims. The
Michelin tyres that where speced for that car where that bloody expensive
that he managed to buy a full set of 5 alloys and decent rubber for the same
cost as the 15 1/4s.
GO figure eh
