Ive heard many glowing recommendations for the AWA 81cm LCD TV being sold by Big W and it should be under $1500

Depends how much you want to spend.
Your probably best off getting the biggest LCD you can afford.
You may notice some ghosting on cheaper models as the response rate is not that good. Look for ones with 8ms or lower response rate.
