The AWB was a GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT in HIS government when they transfered
$300 MILLION Aussie dollars to Saddams bank account. Howard claims he
didn't know what he should have known. It's his job to know what his
government are doing, so if he says he didn't know, how does he know
about that also?
Remember Howard is a proven liar whose words mean nothing.
Did he retire when he was 60? Did he introduce a GST?
I recon he knows that he did know about the bribes, and he is finished as
a credible representative of this nation-continent.

When did Howard ever say he was going to retire at 60?

Not only were you wrong the first time (60 vs 64), you've now also managed
to fuck up in your correction.

From your own source:

"During the recent election campaign, the Labor Party made much of John
Howard's oft-stated intention TO CONSIDER RETIRING when he reached the age
of 64." (emphasis added)

Welcome to the delusional and illiterate mind of Joseph Sixpack.

heh heh

To be fair, Sixpack might not be illiterate ... he might just be a
liar.

Which is it Joe?

(Joe will now cut-and-run from this thread ... as he usually does when
his bullshit is exposed)

I dispute that.

Howard changed his mind, was open about doing so, AND WENT INTO AN ELECTION
SPECIFICALLY CAMPAIGNING FOR A GST, which election he won.

There are reasons to be critical of Howard's government, but, IMO, the GST
and "consider retiring at 64" are non-issues.

He would not have won the election if the Democrats had statet before the
election that they will support the GST in the Senate.

People who were against the GST and who were silly enough to vote for
Howard anyway on the understanding that the Democrats would (1) hold the
balance of power in the Senate; and (2) not allow the GST legislation to
pass; deserve all they got.

And even if those idiots were numerous enough to swing the results in
Howard's favour (which I very much doubt), it's hardly something that
Howard can be blamed for.

Get your keeper to read this out loud to you (from your reference)
"Not necessarily so, replied Howard, since he had not made a definite
undertaking to retire at 64. He had only said he would *think about
retiring*.

Howard has consistenty named the age of 64 as the date he would consider
his retirement. He has never come out and said he would stay the course.

OK what evidence do you have that he has 'considered' his retirement?

1) Anyone in Howard's position would be continually considering his
options, including the possible option of retirement. Are you seriously
suggesting that Howard did NOT even once consider retirement during the one
year period commencing at 00:00 on his 64th birthday and ending at 23:59 on
the evening prior to his 65th?

2) Who gives a fuck? Is this the best you can come up with? Next you'll
be demanding proof that Howard "really means it" when he wishes people a
good morning.

hehehehe......particularly if it happens to be a cloudy
morning. 'One-can-short-of-a-sixpack' will then accuse
Howard of being sarcastic.

(some of you may recognise this gag from an episode
of 'The Young Ones')
