The R&A and USGA websites are now publishing a 'List of Conforming
Driver *heads*'.....as well as the familiar 'Non-Conforming Driver
List'....both of which shall be relevant for play as from January 1, 2008.
Check it all out at :-
http://www.usga.org/equipment/conforming_golf_club/ConformingClubList_M.pdf
In conjunction with this it is helpful to look at the explanatory detail
contained at the R&A webpage at :-
http://www.randa.org/index.cfm?action=rules.equipment.drivingClubPolicy&cfid=1541649&cftoken=25162054
I'm happy to note that my much maligned, but now understood and
contained,'Bangomatic' 10.5° driver head will survive the changes!!
cheers

Thanks, David! I was going to print it out, but it's pushing 200 pages.
Couple of interesting notes:
First, while Golfsmith has a ton of heads listed, and Diamondtour and
Dynacraft a few, I was surprised to see no Golfworks heads listed. I
wonder why. I looked under "Maltby" and "Ralph" but no dice. Seems
strange to me.
Second, a friend of mine has the Lauden Golf Bahama Blue driver. He's
exceptionally long with it, so much so that he gets teased a lot (by me,
generally), that he has to be hitting a nonconforming club.
Interesting that it's listed there as conforming. Nice of USGA to give
us the list of clubheads that do conform.
I'll still have some fun with him, but I'm sure he'll be happy to learn
that it's OK.

Piss on both the R&A and the USGA.
I Clang in their general direction.

This is the rangefinder fight I'm waiting for. I can only begin to imagine the
shit that is gonna hit the fan the first time that someone shows up at his/her
club championship with their brand new $450 Bushnell Pinseeker with Slope and
is told they can't use it but everyone else playing can use th cheap models
they brought with them.

LOL!
Hopefully, they'll grandfather the rule to only allow rangefinders by
those who used them prior to 2006.
Too bad, Pflagstick!
