I wish to stick to CRT, so no offers or advice on LCD or plasma please.

I like the features included with the above Panasonic. I comes with a
built-in SD digital tuner. That's good, but also is a worry for me.
What happens if in 2/3 years I want to go HD? Can I add an HD set-top
to this? You experts out there, please advise. Thanks. Krish.

No problem at all. You could connect the a HD tuner directly to the TV
through the Component Video input on the Panasonic, or if you have more than
one device with component outputs (such as a good DVD player) you could buy
a good quality amp and run your HD tuner and DVD player through the amp and
then down a single component cable to the TV.

Either of these methods will give you a great picture. Using the A/V input
or S-Video input on your TV would render the purchase of a HD tuner
pointless.

Check that it can do 1080i @ 50Hz (& not just 60Hz). Quite a number of
new products only do 1080i @ 60Hz (such as the Xbox 360).

You can easily add a HD box but you would be wasting your money as the TV
won't display a true HD picture.

Just re-read this - should be the other way around.
